Trying to overcome the problem of Tamil Nadu Candidates, which are forced to choose exam centers outside Tamil Nadu, Villupuram-based advocate has submitted public interest litigation in Madras High Court who requested to increase the number of Neet-post graduate exam centers in the state.

Through PIL, Advocate Veerapillai Ramesh has argued before Madras HC that among 255 centers of NEET-PG throughout the country, only 28 are located in the state. This has caused a situation in which the native of Tamil Nadu was forced to choose centers outside TamilNadu.

The HC division bench consisting of Justice R Subbiah and Justice Sathi Kumar Sukumara Kurup has provided direction to the Central Government and NBE to submit their reply on March 8, the Next hearing date.

Through PIL, Advocate Veerapillai Ramesh has argued before Madras HC that among 255 centers of NEET-PG throughout the country, only 28 are located in the state. This has caused a situation in which the native of Tamil Nadu was forced to choose centers outside TamilNadu.

According to the latest media reports, Applicant Ramesh has said before the HC that the NEET-PG examination, carried out by NBE, is a computer-based examination. The timeline to receive an online application for tests has been from February 23 to March 15.

However, because choices for exam centers on the availability of test centers in the city, within a few hours after the start of the online application process on February 23, all 28 centers in the state and one in Puducherry were filled. Because of this, many students were forced to choose an exam center outside Tamil Nadu.

The report added that Madurai member of Parliament(MP) S. Venkateshan also raised the problem to the  Minister of Health on February 24.
