TN release new guidelines for highway Petrol bunk: Tamil Nadu government has released guidelines to issue No objection certification for Petrol bunks in Highway. The minimum distance between the two fuel stations has been fixed at 300 meters.
On 24th February, Dheeraj kumar, highways secretary issued an order that No petrol bunk can be established within 200 to 300 meters of the bridge, flyover, or road intersections on highways to avoid accidents.
Some vehicles on highway stretches tend to apply sudden brakes when they see petrol bunks on the sides. So, by providing 300-meter leeway, motorists can have enough time to halt steadily, said the officials on the highway.
